Current Loves - July
Making a monthly currents layout has become one of my favorite things to do. I started in March, and I have one or two pages for each month in my 9x12 album. I might go back and try to reconstruct January and February, to be thorough. I keep pretty good notes in my Get To Work Book, so I have a decent idea of the things I was into. I used some kits from the August release from Kelly Purkey Shop to make my July currents layout.
The Yes main kit is sold out, but the Back to School mini kit is still available and so adorable. The “currently” and “notes” cards are from the mini kit, and are 4x4. I turned them sideways and cut them down to 3x4, then typed journaling onto vellum and stitched it to the cards.
I used stamps from the main kit to add notes and dates to my photos. I love a little stamping directly on a photo. I think it makes a layout more interesting to look at. I’m really happy with the way the half and half card turned out. I used a heart card from the main kit and a days of the week card from the mini kit, trimmed and stitched together. I initially had just hearts in that pocket, but decided I wanted to include a little more pattern.
I cut a giant “7” out and stitched it to a plain journaling card, to continue with the giant number trend I have going on with these monthly layouts. I love the chance these layouts give me to reflect on the month and highlight the things I loved.
Thanks for taking a look at my layout, and if you think the “back to school” kit is as cute as I do, snag one now before they’re gone!
