Details
That’s what it’s all about for me, really. Capturing the little details that make up a whole life. I’ve been documenting in scrapbooks and notebooks and journals and mini albums for twenty years now, and capturing the details is still my main jam. I struggle with the big events. Somehow, those holidays and celebrations seem so daunting. I love telling tiny stories about tiny things. Everyday things. So this month’s release from Kelly Purkey Shop was perfect for me. The main kit, Tag, You’re It includes an amazing tag builder stamp set that you can use to document all your little details. An additional stamp set coordinates with the main kit stamp set to give you even more tag building options. I’m so into it. I’ll be using these sets a ton!
I did this layout with the main kit. Some months I take a lot of pictures and some months, things just get away from me and I don’t. I did a bad job taking pictures in January and February, so I pulled a few images from both months and put together this spread covering a bunch of little details and events. I ended up using one 6x12 pocket page and one 9x12 pocket page. I chose cards from the kit in blues and peaches. I purposely limit my color palette sometimes to make the layout feel more like a cohesive whole.
I love how easy the stamped tags make it to add little bits of journaling.
I matched my ink colors to my layout. I love that stamps let you customize images for whatever colors you’re using.
This month’s release also included an amazing (and unfortunately sold out) mini kit from Life Love Paper. It’s called Details and the stamp set that comes with it is amazing. I used it here to document my big book reorganization project.
I also used this kit very heavily in my Europe 2018 album, and it really tied the entire project together. I’m in love with how it turned out!
There’s another big, bold alpha out this month. It’s called Park Slope. I love filling a page with giant text.
And the roses in the OK, Ladies stamp set are amazing. I want to stamp them on everything.
Here are a few more images of the projects I made this month.
There are a couple sold out items, but you can still grab most of these beauties in the shop.
