Food Coma
The March 28th release from Kelly Purkey Shop is so good! I’m a little obsessed with food (and not obsessed enough with exercise, but that’s my problem), so this release was an instant favorite! There’s so much you can do with these kits and stamps. I wanted to share a few ways I used them to document food and drinks.
First, I used the traveler’s notebook kit, Food Journal, to document one of my favorite meals at one of the local restaurants I eat at often. Just an ordinary week night meal.
The stamp set that comes with this kit is perfect for documenting everyday meals and special meals. Some of the papers are on theme, and others are versatile patterns. Here, I used a cool geometric pattern as the background for one of my photos.
I modified one of the stamps by cutting it down to highlight only a portion of it - I just wanted to include the location, date, and time details.
And I love the day of the week stickers that come with this kit. I’ll definitely be getting a lot of use out of those.
Next, I used the Happy Hour stamp set to document a special night out for my best friend’s birthday.
I love that you can use the stamp set to build your own cocktail images - they’re so cute, and made the perfect accent for documenting this night of fancy drinks. This layout also features the two new alphas that were released this month - Alberta and Irvington. One is a solid alpha, and the other is an outline, and they’re made to go together. I love all the options that gives me! For my title, I used a black outline, and two different colors on the solid stamps to fill in the outlines. I love the way it turned out.
I used a couple cards from the main kit, Eating Out, for my title and journaling, and I also created a card by layering label stickers.
Finally, I was inspired by this month’s theme to create a tribute to all the amazing meals I’ve had on my travels. I have so many food pictures from so many trips that I ended up doing a 9x12 spread, with a 6x12 insert.
I'm going to post a slide show below, because it’s kind of hard to get a sense of how the insert fits into the layout from the images.
I hope you guys love this release as much as I do. There are still kits available, and if you’re interested, the links above are affiliate links. Thanks for stopping by!
