Hi.

Welcome to A Pocketful of Licorice, my memory-keeping, art-journaling, book-reading, world-traveling blog. I'm Anja. Nice to meet you.

May 2018

May 2018

Today I'm sharing a layout I put together documenting some details from early May. I used products from the May release from Kelly Purkey Shop. I love capturing the little things that make up daily life - what I'm reading, what I see outside, what's happening at school.

I used a stamp from the You Get Me set, along with label and number stickers, to accent this photo. I love using stamps and labels to add detail to photos. This was the thirty-third book I read this year (I'm on a roll). I love a little stitching, so I added some to finish up this part of the layout.

To make this accent card, I used a stamp from the Flower Shop set, and some shimmery pink watercolor. I took those selfies because I was bored. My students were all taking the AP Chemistry exam, and I'm not allowed anywhere near them while that's going on, so I was alone in my classroom, anxiously waiting for them to finish.

I stitched a piece of grid paper to a blue patterned card for the bulk of my journaling. As I often do, I just made a list of current details.

The title was stamped with the Highline alpha set, which I love. So good for big titles. I added more letter and number stickers, labels, stamping, and stitching to finish things off. This release was such fun to create with! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work!
