Homebody
The main kit from Kelly Purkey Shop this month was all about home, and it must have awakened my coziest and homiest sentiments because I ended up creating several traveler’s notebook layouts this month that celebrate my connection to my home.
This first one is about my need to keep fresh flowers around the house. Especially after I’ve spent time getting things nice and clean, I love to buy a few bunches of flowers and scatter them throughout the house. It’s one of my little self-care habits. Flowers always make things a little bit nicer.
I love how the reds in this paper pick up the reds in my bouquet. The stamp set included with the main kit allowed me to add the perfect finishing touches to this simple layout.
The next layout I did with this month’s kits documents the frustration of never really feeling like I’m keeping up with all the things I’m supposed to be doing. I feel like I regularly neglect housework and exercise and other things that actually make me feel good. It’s a vicious cycle where I don’t do the things, and I feel bad about it, which makes me less motivated to do the things. And I really need to find a way to keep on top of it. A clean house does wonders for my mental state. Anyone else feel like that?
This stamp set, designed by Tina of Life Love Paper, was perfect for adding a few flourishes to my journaling. And I’m so in love with the Louise alpha that was released this month. I like a big, bold title, and this set is perfect.
The last layout is more tangentially connected to home. Well, to my home anyway. Because I play Harry Potter movies and audio books all the time. When I have work to get done around the house, I like to have something to listen to, and these stories are a very frequent selection.
This Harry Potter stamp set is so cute. I had to put together a special layout to highlight it.
There’s the Louise alpha again. I love how perfectly the word “always” works as a title here. Any Harry Potter fan knows the significance of that word to the story, and it also reflects my relationship with the story - it’s always with me.
