One Little Word 2019 - Album Flip-Through
HI! Happy December! I’m posting today to share my One Little Word Album for 2019, which I finished up today. Mainly because I don’t think I did a very good job at this year’s word and I’m ready to start on next year’s.
My word was balance, and while I did a lot of thinking about it, I didn’t do much acting on it.
If anyone is unfamiliar, One Little Word is the idea of choosing a word for the year, and living with the word, trying to bring it into your life, exploring what it means to you, etc. It’s a project that Ali Edwards has been doing for many years, and the program and prompts I followed in putting this album together are hers. As are a lot of the products.
Each month, Ali provides a prompt, so I’ll briefly give you a run down of each:
January - define the word, establish a reason why, and set intentions for the year
February - create a vision board for the word - I did a small one in my album, but many people do a large one to hang up on the wall
March - choose one thing to do every day of the month - I failed very badly at this
April - respond to four journaling prompts: I am…, I give myself permission to…, I am learning…, and I feel most alive…
May - capture your word in photographs
June - mid-year check-in/progress report
July - art project with words you need to hear right now
August - respond to the journaling prompt: the story I’m telling myself…
September - write a letter to yourself - mine’s hidden in a pocket
October - self-portrait with things about yourself that you’re thankful for - mine’s a foot photo, though
November - capture your word right now in photos
December - end of the year wrap-up/report
